Terrence Foley was the recipient of The Bill O’Neill Award on Tuesday, May 15, 2007. This award was presented at a Recognition Liturgy, celebrated by The Most Reverend Daniel E. Thomas, to honor distinguished Youth Ministers at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul.
The Bill O’Neill Award, sponsored by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s Athletic Ministry Department, is presented to Adults who demonstrate exceptional dedication and service to youth through Athletic Ministry and for being a model of Gospel values for young people. Bill O’Neill served for many years as the Assistant Athletic Director for the Catholic Youth Organization of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. His dedication to the involvement of young people in the parish community through athletics is a cornerstone for the wonderful program that we enjoy today.
Terry Foley has served the CYO Program at Our Mother of Consolation for over eight years. He has exemplified the best attributes of coaching and Catholic teaching while serving as CYO Girls Basketball Coach, CYO treasurer and Coordinator of the Summer League Program. He has taught invaluable lessons in Christian sportsmanship through his example.
Through the years, Terry has contributed his time and talents that enabled our CYO program to develop into the wonderful program that exists today. For this, we are thankful. Congratulations!

Congratulations to All Athletes and Coaches for a Thrilling Basketball Season
OMC Boys Varsity finished 2nd in the Region with a record of 10-4.
Placing 2nd earned OMC a spot in the Archdiocesan Tournament. A first for OMC in recent history. Team All Stars included: Brendan Boyle, Ian Holland and Terrence O’Toole. MVP for the Region’s All Star game was Gregory Boyd. Returning 7th graders are: Jonathan Upchurch, Gregory Boyd and Peter Shields.
OMC Girls Varsity finished 2nd in the Region with a record of 12-3.
Following the championship game, the girls were invited to the Bishop McDevitt Tournament. A full weekend of competition placed the girls in 2nd Place in the tournament. MVP for the Tournament was Asha Davis. Team All Stars included: Asha Davis, Savannah Davis, Grace Kelly and Kamiliah Berrian. Returning 7th graders are: Katie Boyle, Jane Idler, Mamie Fennimore, and Samantha Lewis
OMC Boys JV had a wonderful season with a record of 7-3.
JV All Stars were Kehri Vance and Mahig . Varsity is looking forward to the upcoming players.
OMC HS Girls held their own in a most competitive Region 10 League.

Steelers Football Team brings home the CO- CHAMIPIONSHIP!
On Saturday, November 18, the REGION 5 Steelers entered the Parade of Champions at Villanova University. Steelers played St. Maximillian Kolbe for the Chamipionship. Both teams were eveningly matched with records of 8-1 entering the game. Steelers only loss this season was to St. Max (7-0) . The game ended in a tie with 0-0, thus making both teams Co-Champions. Special thanks to OMC Varsity Players: Brendan Boyle, Mike Stack, and Jonathan Upchurch - JV players: Ronnie Bolden, Amir Dunston, Eric Milovksy, and Kheri Vance. Congratulations for a wonderful season.
For God & Youth Award
Tim and Marianne Dwyer received the For God & Youth Award which is presented annually to a coach or parish athletic director from each region who exemplifies the best attributes of coaching and Catholic teaching to the young athletes of his/her parish or region. This award is recognized nationally which the Youth Ministry Office presents in honor of Mr. Bill O'Neill. Bill served for many years as the Assistant Athletic Director for the Catholic Youth Organization. His dedication to the involvement of young people in the parish community through athletics is a cornerstone for the wonderful program that we enjoy today. The award was presented at a Liturgy to honor Athletes and Coaches on January 15, 2005 at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul.
Marianne and Tim Dwyer have served the CYO Program at Our Mother of Consolation for over 12 years. They have contributed their time and talents that enabled our CYO program to develop into the wonderful program that exists today. For this, we are thankful. Congratulations.
